I see people complaining about the new outlook of LJ. Well, tell you what. At the time it was introduced a balloon popped up in front of me, asking if I'd like to remain with the old version. I clicked Yes, so everything for me is just as it used to be.

Those who were curious enough to opt for the new version though, now have no opportunity to revert to the old one. Because the LJ developers suck like that.

Pros:
+ New comments being marked with "new comment" - awesome! Makes my job in checking threads very easy.
+ Buttons allowing direct linking, picture embedding and video embedding in comments. - awesome! Allows people who are not familiar with Html to make their comments fancier.
+ Separate comments displaying preceding comment above (need to press "expand"). - awesome! This way you know what you're responding to, and what the response you're responding to had responded to.
+ Mass action on entire threads, sub-threads. - awesome! Allows me to view all comments on a thread with a single click.

Cons:
- Sub-thread subjects removed. - They shouldn't have done this!
- Icon selection is clumsy and loads slowly. - Bad, especially with slow internet.

Etc.

Overall, there are things they shouldn't have changed, but most of their additions are good and useful.

LJ Support warns:

There is currently a CSRF designed to mislead you into believing LiveJournal is requesting your username and password, when the data is actually being requested by a third party who is trying to gain access to your account.

The attack will appear as though someone has left you a comment, but an image similar to the following will appear requesting your password:

phishing

The domain used, liv i ejournal.com, is not livejournal.com, and you should not enter your password into any popup like this which appears.  The domain used by the attacker could change at any time.

If you have entered your username and password into any popup like this, you should immediately change your password at https://www.livejournal.com/changepassword.bml.

If any content has been deleted from your journal by someone other than you, please submit an abuse request.

WHAT'S HE TALKIN 'BOUT, WILLIS!?!?!?

I keed, I keed.

Yeah. I've finally surrendered to 2-year-long persuasions. I'll give it a shot. I still believe I'm crappy mod material, but they wouldn't listen to me. :-S

Anyway. Nothing really changes that much, except now I can finally add to t_p those cool Christmas color themes that I saw somewhere. Yay!

(No, I lied. I'm shaking with anxiety right now. What am I getting into? What shall I dooo?)

Ps. Remember: Internet Is Srs Bzns.

Pps. ^ Btw is this good for a mod icon? Nope? I thought so.
Sigh...

This made my day.

F.O.: Nobody from The West is moving to Africa.
Kol: But I've moved to Africa, and [livejournal.com profile] mahnmut too.
F.O.: That's just 2 people.
Kol: And [livejournal.com profile] airiefairie. Thats 3 people out of, like, 600 westerners on TP (i assume). A pretty good percentage, IMO (0.5%). If we say the West has a population of 2 billion, that already means 10 million Western people have moved to Africa :p

A new virus is hacking mods of larger communities. Be careful what links you're clicking on.
