Slobodan Milosevic, the former Yugoslav president who oversaw the bloody carve-up of his country during the Balkan wars of the 1990s, has been found dead in his cell at a UN prison near The Hague.
The International Criminal Tribunal said Milosevic, 64, appeared to have died of natural causes.
I can imagine what will follow now. The Serbian nationalists will have a strong reason to rise against the government and will make Slobo look like a hero. There are accusations from all sides that the Hague tribunal was no good and didn't do their job. Obviously it was a politically inspired case and this is why it was doomed to failure. It is just starting to get interesting.
