Double standard

US & EU want democracy, right? But they're willing to suspend financial aid to Palestine. People have chose Hamas, is that not democracy? Why don't we just tell them which party they should democratically choose? Same case with Belarus. Double standard seen everywhere. I'm not saying the elections were fair. But EU's and the US attitude is quite one-sided and straightforward. Go ask anyone on the streets of Minsk whom they'd prefer for president. 3 out of 4 will tell you, Lukashenko. Let's face it. The West has just seen a chance to give one more kick on Russia's ass and they're surely going for it. But Belarus (or Ukraine, for that matter) cannot live long without good relations with Russia. Returning to Palestine, I know what most of you'll tell me. Those are terrorists. Well, then we better re-think the definition of democracy. The "democracy" we so aggressively try to impose on everyone. "Our" democracy and our way of life. Translated in simpler words: our interests.
