What's wrong with SA diplomacy?

‘Perverse’ SA plan knocks UN’s Iran vote

SA is again making waves at the United Nations (UN) Security Council, this time proposing a 90-day “timeout” for Iran. The proposal has drawn criticism from western powers, with the British ambassador saying it was “totally perverse”.

The Iran intervention follows SA’s controversial move to block security council debates on notorious human rights abusers Zimbabwe and Burma.

You ever heard of UNSC rotation? AND, they made a proposal BECAUSE they have a chance to (i.e., they're in the UNSC). SA participation in the UNSC is not being determined by their stance on this matter or that matter.

Still, this doesn't explain South Africa's strange stance on Iran and especially Zimbabwe.
