2008!
Happy New Year everybody! I hope it'll be at least a little better than the previous one. Although it's not starting very well in its first days, speaking globally...
Just think about the sudden and unexpected turmoil in Kenya, where hundreds are dead, and are still being killed after the disputed presidential elections.
Or the Bhutto assassination in Pakistan, and the complications that come with it.
But there are some good news as well. Cyprus and Malta adopted the Euro. Nepal abolished the monarchy. And Venezuela started its new currency, the Bolívar Fuerte (a country printing its own money without the global Central-Bank syndicate holding its boot on its neck is a smart thing, but has proved a political suicide - we'll see the swift response that is sure to follow).

You might like to concentrate on hoping for a better year 2008 on yer personal front instead of getting concerned about the global matters ;)
So, happy new year to you and to your family!

You're right here. But it doesn't mean I should bury my head in the sand about the broader picture.
