"Nuclear launch detected" reminds me of of a particular SC game in high school. We were all playing in a computer lab at school during the last week of the eyar — always a joke as it was nothing more than half days and mainly consisted of wandering around looking for people to sign your yearbook, so some of us brought in our games and camped in one of the labs. All (but one) of us were trash-talking as we pulverized each other, not noticing that Josh (my future brother-in-law, ironically) was being oddly quiet.
Suddenly, we hear "nuclear launch detected". Over. And Over. And Over. All of us scramble to find those goddamned red dots, with no luck. Then Doug starts howling because Josh had just nuked him back to the Stone Age (or whatever the Zerg equivalent is). The game (for all of us except Josh, obviously) went downhill from there.
