The New York Times published a front-page report under the heading "Song wakens injured pride of Afrikaners". The newspaper followed singer Bok van Blerk to Orania, and used photos of him and H F Verwoerd's statue in the "Volkstaat".

There was a comment to this video, which could pretty much sums up the sentiments of the Afrikaner:
The Boers have a legitimate history full of high points and low points, which they should be free to interpret and discuss. They are unfairly marginalized and prevented from celebrating their past simply because they are considered "white", and not a special protected class. The politically correct rules of engagement prevent fair and open minded study of history.
...and still, it doesnt mean you can't call this racism. More, you're encouraged to do so.
