 You must fire me if I fail, thunders Zuma

ANC leader Jacob Zuma has challenged his supporters to remove him as party president if he fails to tackle the ructions in the party.

Speaking at the ANC's 96th anniversary celebrations in Tshwane on Saturday, Zuma warned that rumour-mongering, squabbling and back-stabbing would no longer be tolerated.

"I have said in the past to the NEC that people must not gossip and plan and mislead and think that this gossip does not come to the movement. We will act to bring about control in the ANC. We must not be surprised if we take harsher action against those whose activities undermine the ANC. If this continues, you will have to remove me as president of the ANC," he said. ...
