Re-excavating the ghosts of the past
Mar. 5th, 2006 12:10 pmSo, the Italian comission has "revealed" the "truth" about the assassination attempt on JP2, and re-excavated the old version called the "Bulgarian trace", [1] [2] which was discarded more than a decade ago. The late Pope himself stated that he did not believe in this theory, though this statement had been deliberately ignored by Italian medias -, and he was surely a man who possessed large massives of information. Then, what could be the new motive for the "reincarnation" of this theory? Is it the current political situation (but what is the situation?), or an attempt to blackmail Russia? And why? But after all, even if the "theory" is somehow proved, is Russia obliged to take the responsibility for the acts of USSR?
