Today is Youth Day, a great national holiday here.

And South Africa is playing vs Uruguay in Pretoria in about 5 minutes.

The stadium is packed. I'm here at the braai, and everyone is excited. It's a cold evening, but the hearts are warm.

Our boys are singing Shosholoza while walking through the tunnel.

Stand up for the anthem...

...And blow your vuvuzela.

I hope they'll reach the light at the end of it. Let's play for glory!

[edit] Heh. I should stop talking in advance, because we were soundly beaten by the Uruguayans, 3-0. Great match for Forlan, i have to admit.

After how well they seemed to play against Mexico I was stunned. I mean Uruguay is good, but SA really never seemed to be in the game/match.

Indeed. I always suspected we don't have much of a playing potential, and this became evident last night. Oh well.
