Would I be mocked if I expressed my observation that, contrary to most perceptions and some delusions, my impression is that Obama is rather an atheist, but he pretends to be religious to be eligible for president?

I think an open atheist would be elected president in the US long after a female gay Jew is elected president.

Maybe a female gay Jew. But a straight guy Jew? It could happen within the next 20 years, easy. We almost did it with Lieberman in 2000 (although he was running for Veep at the time.)

As for Obama being an atheist...er, no. He's not a Christian Fundamentalist, sure, but he's definitely not an atheist. It's easy to mistake him for atheist when compared to the last president, but he isn't. Full stop. That man clearly believes in a deity.

I won't mock you, though; its just a simple opinion, and quite an interesting one.
