'Fake' Togo team played Bahrain in friendly
A "fake" Togo national team played against Bahrain in an international friendly last week, prompting an investigation from the African nation's sports ministry and FIFA.
Actually the last occasion when the Togo (how was the adjective?) national team was mentioned wasn't so funny. During the African Cup of Nations in Angola, their bus was attacked by insurgents, and two people died. Then Togo's sports minister decided to withdraw the team from the tournament because they were all devastated, and concerned about safety in Angola (except they had traveled to a war-torn enclave, where the organizers shouldn't have arranged matches in the first place, but I digress). The African association wanted to punish them for leaving the tournament, but later they quit that intention.
Now we see them sending a 'fake' national team to Bahrain. This is going to be glorious.
