I've been told that legalizing same-sex marriage is a can of worms awaiting to... well, explode... or whatever cans of worms usually do.

As a friend asked, this begs the question (heh)... After 15 years of this can of worms having been opened in the Netherlands, what exactly has happened?

But, you see, the Netherlands is a tiny, tiny country of 150,000, with a huuugely homogenous population!!! 100.1% of all Dutch are... well, shamelessly Dutch! This explains EVERYTHING!

(Conversely, you just wait - the trap has been set for the Netherlands, and that country is doomed to collapse under the weight of its own tolerance and equality... at some point. YOU JUST WAIT!)

Not 15 years (yet), but you could also ask Canada

We're a significantly bigger country (circa 35 million) and with a much more diverse population, along with two official languages.

But, er, we too are waiting for that long-promised social collapse. Presumably, the rot is still completely invisible, as in the Netherlands.
