I found this segment hilarious, but regardless of its comedic purpose, it actually shows how irrelevant to today's political realities the Democratic Party nomination system is. Jason Jones interviews a superdelegate who happens to be a college student and grills Gary Hart about his former presidential chances.

Yes that's what I thought initially. That the superdelegates are some sort of guardian angels or wise Elders but it turns out they aren't. In their majority, these are activists who have contributed in a way to the party. So their vote weighs as much as several thousand "ordinary" votes of the sheeple, oops sorry I meant people. And this is called the DEMOCRATIC party.
