ANC president Jacob Zuma has been hailed as the "conqueror" of every obstacle in his way to winning the party’s presidency at a belated birthday celebration in Soweto on Saturday.
"I saluted you Msholozi for conquering all the obstacles on your way up...," an imbongi (praise singer) sang in welcoming him to the Jozi FM celebration at the South African Football Stadium, in Klipspruit.
These "obstacles" included former National Prosecuting Authority head Bulelani Ngcuka and the Scorpions, and SABC chief executive Dali Mpofu "who stopped any coverage about you at the SABC". (Times)
