Good news comes with bad news

Remember Fhulufhedzani? The elderly lady whom we took at home a couple of weeks ago? I have good news. I managed to find a job for her!!!

She'll work at the laundry service at a hotel nearby. I think they'll be able to provide her accommodation in the next week, as well.

But the good news came at a price. We learned in the weekend that her son who had moved to US some time ago, is now spending time in jail for theft in upper state NY. 10 months I think :-(
And he won't be sending her money for some time, I can imagine. Life is so cruel...

Better to have her own job than rely on the son. As work in the US is harder to come by, esp for immigrants, she is better off with work herself in SA. And US jails will feed him and give him a warm place to sleep. Not optimal but at least he is fed.
